Experience My India's 4 Days Ayodhya Varanasi Tour Package is the complete, unhurried version of this two-city yatra - two full days in the Kashi of Lord Shiva and two in the Ayodhya of Lord Ram, with the transfer done in daylight rather than a rushed drive. Days 1 and 2 are Varanasi: Kaal Bhairav and Kashi Vishwanath, the Ganga Aarti from the water and a Banaras street-food walk, then a Subah-e-Banaras sunrise, the southern temples of Durga Kund, Tulsi Manas and Sankat Mochan, the BHU campus, Sarnath, and the silk weavers' markets. Day 3 drives about 200 km to Ayodhya for Hanuman Garhi, Kanak Bhawan, Dasharath Mahal and the evening Saryu Aarti. Day 4 is the grand darshan of Ram Lalla at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir and a closing visit to Guptar Ghat, where Lord Rama is believed to have left the world. Four days is what lets each temple be caught in its calm morning, each aarti seen without a scramble, and the two cities joined without a night drive. Day 1 - Varanasi: Arrival and the Spirit of Old Kashi. The first day eases you into Kashi - the old-city temples, the Ganga Aarti from the water, and a taste of Banaras after dark.
Arrive at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport or Varanasi Junction, check into your hotel near the central Godowlia or Dashashwamedh area, and rest before the afternoon.
Practical note
Tell us your arrival time and pickup point; the old city is not drivable to the door, so we plan the last stretch on foot or by e-rickshaw.
Through the narrow lanes we visit Kaal Bhairav, the guardian deity of Kashi, then Kashi Vishwanath (the Golden Temple) and the adjacent Annapurna Temple.
Practical note
Phones, cameras and leather are not allowed inside Kashi Vishwanath - deposit them at the free cloakroom near the corridor gates (allow 15-25 minutes). General darshan is free; we book the official Sugam Darshan e-pass.
We board a sunset boat along the ghats and take a spot near Dashashwamedh to watch the synchronised evening Ganga Aarti from the water.
Practical note
The aarti is seasonal - about 5:45 PM in winter, 6:45-7:00 PM in summer - and the boat gives the clearest view.
We close the day tasting the flavours of the city - tamatar chaat, palak patta chaat and the famous Banarasi paan - with the guide, who knows the trustworthy stalls.
Practical note
Go easy on the first night's street food if your stomach is new to it; the guide will point you to the milder, cleaner options.
Day 2 - Varanasi: Southern Temples, Sarnath and Silk. The second day is the fuller Kashi - the river at dawn, the green southern temples, the ancient calm of Sarnath, and the silk that made the city famous.
We reach Assi Ghat for Subah-e-Banaras - the morning aarti, Vedic chanting and classical music as the sun rises over the river - the calmest hour in the city.
Practical note
Warm layers help on winter mornings by the water; a sunrise boat can be added here if you wish.
We visit the crimson Durga Temple, the marble-walled Tulsi Manas Mandir where the Ramcharitmanas was composed, and the Tulsidas-founded Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple, then drive through the tree-lined BHU campus to the towering New Vishwanath (Birla) Temple.
Practical note
Sankat Mochan bans phones and cameras for security - free lockers at the gate, and keep prasad out of sight of the monkeys.
About 10 km north lies Sarnath, the deer park where the Buddha gave his first sermon. We explore the Dhamekh Stupa, the Chaukhandi Stupa and the Archaeological Museum, home to the Lion Capital of Ashoka - India's national emblem.
Practical note
The stupas and deer park are open daily, but the Sarnath Archaeological Museum is closed on Fridays - if you travel on a Friday we reorder the afternoon.
We spend the evening in the markets for hand-woven Banarasi silk sarees and brocades - buying, if you wish, where the loom is in the room rather than from a commission showroom.
Practical note
Real handloom silk carries a Silk Mark and GI tag; a 'pure silk' saree offered under about Rs 2,500 is almost always powerloom, and shops an auto driver pushes hard usually add a commission to your bill. Our guide helps you check before you pay.
Day 3 - Journey to the Land of Rama. The third day carries you from Kashi to Ram Nagri by day, arriving in time for Hanuman's blessing and the Saryu Aarti.
After an early breakfast and checkout, we drive about 200 km from Varanasi to Ayodhya - roughly 4.5 to 5 hours - with a rest stop on the way.
Practical note
The daytime transfer means you arrive fresh, not after a night drive; there is no dedicated Varanasi-Ayodhya Vande Bharat, so the private cab is usually simplest for this leg.
After checking into your Ayodhya hotel, we climb the 76 steps of Hanuman Garhi, the guardian of Ayodhya - the blessing tradition asks for before the Ram Mandir darshan tomorrow - then Kanak Bhawan, with its golden-crowned idols of Rama and Sita, and the nearby Dasharath Mahal.
Practical note
A paalki is available at Hanuman Garhi's base; photography is not allowed inside the top complex.
We walk down to the Saryu for the evening Saryu Aarti at the illuminated steps of Ram ki Paidi - lamps, chanting and the river at dusk.
Practical note
Seasonal like the Ganga Aarti; we seat you about 45 minutes early for a clear view.
Day 4 - Grand Ram Mandir Darshan and Departure. The final morning is the reason many come: darshan of Ram Lalla, and a quiet close at the ghat where Rama's own journey ended.
We reach the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir early, before the peak crowds, for darshan of Ram Lalla and time among the pink-sandstone carvings of the temple consecrated on 22 January 2024.
Practical note
Phones, cameras and leather are not allowed inside - free lockers before the first checkpoint. General darshan is free; we book the official Sugam Darshan e-pass and reach the 7:00 AM opening for the shortest queue.
We close at Guptar Ghat on the Saryu, about 8-10 km from the core, the sacred spot where Lord Rama is believed to have taken jal samadhi - his celestial departure from the world.
Practical note
The long colonnaded steps and the small Vijayraghav Mandir make this the most unhurried and reflective stop of the tour.
We collect your luggage and transfer you to Ayodhya's Maharishi Valmiki International Airport or Ayodhya Dham Junction for your return - or, if your flights are booked from Varanasi, we drive you back there.
Practical note
Tell us your return details early so we time the day; the drive back to Varanasi is about 4.5 to 5 hours if you need it.

Everything you need to know about your pilgrimage with Experience My India.
The package includes a private AC cab for both cities and the transfer, three nights of hotels (two in Varanasi, one in Ayodhya), local guides in Kashi and Ayodhya, sunrise and sunset Ganga boats, seating for the Ganga Aarti and Saryu Aarti, a Subah-e-Banaras morning, a guided street-food walk, the Sarnath excursion, breakfast and meals, and darshan assistance with Sugam Darshan e-pass help at both temples. Flights, trains and temple fees are not included. WhatsApp Experience My India at +91-7302265809.
The 4 Days Ayodhya Varanasi Tour Package is priced per person and depends on your hotel category, group size and pickup point, with a lower rate for larger groups. Experience My India shares the exact per-person figure on WhatsApp rather than a fixed sticker price. Message +91-7302265809 with your dates and number of travellers and we reply within 30 minutes.
Days 1-2 are Varanasi: Kaal Bhairav, Kashi Vishwanath, the Ganga Aarti and street food, then Subah-e-Banaras, the southern temples, BHU, Sarnath and silk. Day 3 drives to Ayodhya for Hanuman Garhi, Kanak Bhawan and the Saryu Aarti. Day 4 is the grand Ram Mandir darshan and Guptar Ghat before departure. Experience My India adjusts it to your arrival and return.
Yes - four days is the gentlest way to do both cities. Experience My India keeps the AC cab close, gives the aartis and sunrise from a boat, spreads the walking across days, and can pre-book wheelchair assistance and special darshan on both temple portals. Hanuman Garhi's 76 steps have a paalki. WhatsApp +91-7302265809 with any mobility needs and we plan around them.
Around 70% of Kashi Vishwanath and Ram Mandir pilgrims come from South India, and this full two-city yatra is a favourite. Arrive into Varanasi (Lal Bahadur Shastri airport) and depart from Ayodhya, and Experience My India plans everything in between. WhatsApp +91-7302265809 with your city and dates; we book both Sugam Darshan passes and reply within 30 minutes.
General darshan is free at both. A Sugam Darshan e-pass speeds each queue - booked on the official shrikashivishwanath.org for Kashi (about Rs 250-300) and srjbtkshetra.org for Ayodhya - and Experience My India books both. There is no other legitimate VIP entry. Phones, cameras and leather items, belts and wallets included at Kashi Vishwanath, are banned inside; use the free cloakroom or lockers.
By private AC cab - about 200 km, roughly 4.5 to 5 hours - on the morning of Day 3, so you arrive fresh for the Saryu Aarti rather than after a night drive. There is no dedicated Varanasi-Ayodhya Vande Bharat, though direct trains run; Experience My India books a suitable train if you prefer rail. WhatsApp +91-7302265809 to plan it.
Experience My India keeps cancellation flexible. Since the hotels, both Sugam Darshan passes and the boat slots are date-specific, we ask for firm dates, and cancellations made with reasonable advance notice are accommodated. If your plans change, message us early. WhatsApp +91-7302265809 to confirm the terms for your dates before you book.
Yes. Experience My India can end the tour in Ayodhya or drive you back to Varanasi for a return flight, reverse the direction, extend to Prayagraj and the Triveni Sangam for the three-city circuit, or add a guided visit to genuine Banarasi silk weavers. WhatsApp +91-7302265809 and we shape the four days around your dates.
Booking takes one message. WhatsApp Experience My India at +91-7302265809 with your travel dates, group size and your Varanasi arrival and departure details. We reply within 30 minutes with the price, confirm your hotels and cab, and book both Sugam Darshan passes. No advance payment is taken until your plan is confirmed in writing.

What travel guides don't tell you before you arrive.
Both cities can be rushed - operators sell Ayodhya and Varanasi in a single hectic day, or squeeze them into two with a midnight drive. It is possible. It is just not how either city is meant to be met, and the numbers show why four days is the length that finally removes the rush.
Take the temples first. Kashi Vishwanath is calmest right after it opens around 4:00 AM, and its general queue can run 2-4 hours on Mondays, in Sawan and at Mahashivratri. The Ram Mandir opens at 7:00 AM and closes for its midday break from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM. On a two-day trip you get one shot at each, and if a queue runs long you lose the darshan. Across four days, Experience My India can put Kashi Vishwanath in an early Day-1 or Day-2 slot and Ram Lalla at the Day-4 opening, each on a Sugam pass, each in its own calm window - no gamble.
Then the transfer. Ayodhya and Varanasi are about 200 km apart, roughly a 4.5 to 5 hour drive. The two-day version does that drive at night, after the Saryu Aarti, reaching the second city near midnight; the four-day version does it in daylight on Day 3 morning, so you arrive rested and still catch that evening's aarti. That single change - a daytime drive instead of a night one - is the difference most guests feel most.
And then the things that only reward slowness. The Subah-e-Banaras sunrise, the street-food walk, the southern temples, an unhurried hour buying real silk from the weavers, a reflective close at Guptar Ghat - these are the first casualties of a packed schedule, and they are, for many, what they remember longest. Two aartis on two rivers, two grand darshans, and the room between them to actually feel where you are: that is what the extra days buy. If your time is tight, our two- and three-day versions do a faithful job. If you want the two cities to land, four days is the honest answer.
It is fitting that this tour ends at Guptar Ghat, because Guptar Ghat is where an ending is exactly what is remembered. This quiet stretch of the Saryu, about 8-10 km upriver from the Ram Mandir, is held to be the place where Lord Rama walked into the water and took jal samadhi - his departure from the mortal world.
After four days of crowds and corridors and grand darshans, the ghat comes as a hush. The long colonnaded steps run down to a calmer, clearer Saryu; the small Vijayraghav Mandir sits to one side; boats drift where the river is said to have closed over Rama. There is none of the press of Ram ki Paidi here, and that is the point - it is a place to sit, not to queue. Most guests fall quiet without being told to.
There is a symmetry that lands on people at the end of this particular yatra. You began in Kashi, the city the whole of India comes to in order to cross over - where death is not hidden but honoured, at Manikarnika and along the burning ghats. And you end in Ayodhya at the very spot where Rama himself crossed over. Two rivers, two departures, one quiet truth held at both ends of the journey. Where the trip began among Shiva's fires, it closes on Rama's still water.
Rajeev Sharma and the Experience My India team bring you here last, and without narration - a few unhurried minutes by the Saryu to let four days settle before the drive to the airport. Guests tell us, more than anywhere else on the tour, that this is where it all quietly added up. Har Har Mahadev where it began; Jai Shri Ram where it ends.
Day 2 insider tip: the silk is where money changes hands wrongly. Experience My India takes you to genuine weavers, not the showrooms auto drivers are paid to fill, and shows you the Silk Mark and the reverse-weave test - so you leave Kashi with a real Banarasi at the weaver's price.
Senior citizen note: four days is the gentlest way to do both cities - the walking is spread out, the aartis and sunrise come from a boat, and the transfer is a daytime drive rather than a night one. We can pre-book wheelchair assistance and special darshan on both temple portals, and a paalki waits at Hanuman Garhi.
Pro tip: Our local guides know these nuances intimately. They navigate crowds, time the darshan, handle protocols and share the stories textbooks miss.

The practical details that make the difference on the day.
This is a point-to-point tour by default - arrive in Varanasi, depart from Ayodhya (Maharishi Valmiki Airport or Ayodhya Dham Junction) - but Experience My India can drive you back to Varanasi if your return flights are from there.
Four days means each temple is caught in its calm morning - we do Kashi Vishwanath early on Day 1 or 2 and the Ram Mandir at the 7:00 AM opening on Day 4, both on Sugam passes.
Leather (belts, wallets) is strictly forbidden inside Kashi Vishwanath, and phones and cameras are banned inside both Vishwanath and the Ram Mandir - use the free cloakroom in Kashi and the free lockers in Ayodhya.
General darshan is free at both temples - a Sugam Darshan e-pass (Kashi on shrikashivishwanath.org, about Rs 250-300; Ayodhya on srjbtkshetra.org) only speeds the queue; touts sell fakes.
Sankat Mochan also bans phones and cameras - free lockers at the gate, and keep prasad out of sight of the monkeys.
Real Banarasi silk carries a Silk Mark and GI tag - a 'pure silk' saree under about Rs 2,500 is almost always powerloom; buy in the weavers' district, not from a shop an auto driver pushes.
The Ganga and Saryu aartis are seasonal (about 5:45 PM in winter, 6:45-7:00 PM in summer), and Subah-e-Banaras is at dawn at Assi Ghat.
Hanuman Garhi is 76 steps with a paalki at the base; the Sarnath museum is closed on Fridays; Guptar Ghat is about 8-10 km from the Ayodhya core on Day 4.
