Experience My India's 2 Days Varanasi Tour Package gives Kashi the two days it deserves - one for the spiritual core and the river, one for the quieter southern temples and Sarnath. Day 1 begins with Kaal Bhairav, the Kotwal of Kashi whose blessing tradition asks for before anything else, then Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham through the corridor, a Banarasi breakfast of kachori-sabzi, jalebi and lassi in a clay kulhad, the silk-weaving lanes, and at dusk the grand Ganga Aarti watched from a boat as you float past the eternal fires of Manikarnika. Day 2 opens gently with a Subah-e-Banaras sunrise ride, then the Southern temple trail - the Tulsidas-founded Sankat Mochan, the red Durga Kund and the marble Tulsi Manas Mandir where the Ramayana is carved into the walls - before Banaras Hindu University and a drive to Sarnath, where the Buddha gave his first sermon. With one night near the ghats, an AC cab and a local Kashi guide who knows the corridor, the timings and the touts, the two days flow without a wasted hour. Day 1 - The Spiritual Core and the Evening Ganga Aarti. The first day is the heart of Kashi - the ancient lanes, the Jyotirlinga and the river at dusk. We handle the darshan sequence and the corridor rules so the day stays calm.
We begin with Kaal Bhairav, the Kotwal of Kashi - the city's guardian magistrate. Tradition holds that you seek his permission to be in the holy city before any other darshan, so this is always our first stop.
Practical note
A short, intense shrine; the black thread (kaala dhaga) tied here is his traditional token of protection.
Through the narrow, bustling Vishwanath Gali we reach the Golden Temple - the Jyotirlinga of Lord Vishwanath and the reason pilgrims come to Kashi at all - now approached through the Vishwanath Corridor opened in December 2021.
Practical note
Phones, cameras, leather and bags are not allowed inside - deposit them at the free cloakroom near the corridor gates first (allow 15-25 minutes). General darshan is free; we book the official Sugam Darshan e-pass to skip the long line.
A classic Banaras breakfast - kachori-sabzi, hot jalebi and a creamy Banarasi lassi served in a clay kulhad - then the weavers' lanes, where the world-famous Banarasi silk sarees are still made by hand on the loom.
Practical note
The old-city lanes are uneven and shared with cows and monkeys; keep bags closed and stay with the guide.
As dusk falls we take a rowing boat from Dashashwamedh or Assi Ghat and watch the grand, synchronised Ganga Aarti from the water - fire, conch and chant offered to the river - floating past Manikarnika, the eternal cremation ground, on the way.
Practical note
The aarti is seasonal: about 5:45 PM in winter and 6:45-7:00 PM in summer, lasting around 45 minutes. There is no photography at Manikarnika. A boat gives the clearest, calmest view.
Dinner and an overnight stay near the ghats, ready for an early start on the river tomorrow.
Day 2 - Sunrise, the Southern Temples and Sarnath. The second day shows Kashi's gentler side - the river at first light and the green southern temples - before the historic calm of Sarnath.
We reach Assi Ghat for the Subah-e-Banaras sunrise - the morning aarti, yoga and Vedic chanting on the steps - and a boat ride as the first light strikes the old palaces and ghats along the river. The calmest, most photogenic hour in Kashi.
Practical note
Warm layers help in winter mornings on the water; the sunrise slot costs more than a midday boat, so we fix the rate before boarding.
After breakfast, the Southern temple trail. Sankat Mochan, the reliever of troubles, was founded by the saint-poet Tulsidas, who is said to have had a vision of Hanuman here. Its monkey-filled courtyard rings with the Hanuman Chalisa.
Practical note
Phones, cameras and smartwatches are banned inside for security - use the free lockers at the gate. The monkeys will snatch any prasad or food on show, so keep it out of sight.
A short walk away stand two more of the southern trinity: the 18th-century red Durga Kund Mandir beside its sacred tank, and the white-marble Tulsi Manas Mandir, whose walls are inscribed with the verses of the Ramcharitmanas that Tulsidas composed in Kashi.
Practical note
All three temples sit within about 600 metres; Tulsi Manas closes for a midday break, so we take it in the morning.
We drive through the green BHU campus to the New Vishwanath (Birla) Temple, one of the tallest temples in India and open to all, a calm contrast to the old city's crush.
Practical note
Modest dress is appreciated; the campus is spread out, so the cab stays with you here.
About a 30-minute drive north lies Sarnath, where the Buddha gave his first sermon. We explore the 43-metre Dhamek Stupa, the peaceful Deer Park where the sermon is said to have been given, and the Archaeological Museum, home to the original Lion Capital of Ashoka - India's national emblem.
Practical note
The Dhamek Stupa and Deer Park are open daily, but the Sarnath Archaeological Museum is closed on Fridays - if you travel on a Friday we reorder the day.
After Sarnath we transfer you to Varanasi Junction or the airport in good time for your onward journey, and the yatra ends with the blessings of Kashi.

Everything you need to know about your pilgrimage with Experience My India.
The package includes an AC cab across both days, one night in a hotel near the ghats, an expert local Kashi guide, a Subah-e-Banaras sunrise boat ride and an evening Ganga Aarti boat, Banarasi breakfast and meals, Kashi Vishwanath darshan assistance with Sugam Darshan e-pass help, the Southern temple trail and the Sarnath excursion. Flights, trains and temple ticket fees are not included. WhatsApp Experience My India at +91-7302265809 for exact inclusions.
The 2 Days Varanasi Tour Package is priced per person and depends on your hotel category, group size and pickup point, with a lower rate for larger groups. Experience My India shares the exact per-person figure on WhatsApp rather than a fixed sticker price. Message +91-7302265809 with your dates and number of travellers and we reply within 30 minutes.
Day 1 is the spiritual core - Kaal Bhairav, Kashi Vishwanath, the silk markets and the evening Ganga Aarti from a boat. Day 2 is a Subah-e-Banaras sunrise ride, then the Southern temple trail of Sankat Mochan, Durga Kund and Tulsi Manas, BHU and the New Vishwanath Temple, and a Sarnath excursion. Experience My India adjusts it to your arrival and departure.
Yes. Experience My India keeps the AC cab for all driving and gives elderly guests both the sunrise and the evening aarti from a boat, far gentler than the crowded steps. The hotel sits near the ghats, and we walk the uneven lanes at your pace. WhatsApp +91-7302265809 with any mobility needs before booking and we plan the two days around them.
Around 70% of Kashi Vishwanath pilgrims come from South India, so this is our most common request. Fly into Varanasi (VNS) airport, about 25 km from the ghats, or take a train to Varanasi Junction, and Experience My India plans both days around your arrival. WhatsApp +91-7302265809 with your city and dates; we book your Sugam Darshan pass and reply within 30 minutes.
General darshan is completely free. A Sugam Darshan e-pass (about Rs 250-300) on the official shrikashivishwanath.org portal gives a faster lane, and Experience My India books it there for you - there is no other legitimate VIP entry. Phones, cameras, leather and bags are banned inside; deposit them at the free cloakroom near the corridor gates first. Sankat Mochan also bans phones, with lockers at its gate.
Experience My India provides a private AC cab for the Southern temples, BHU and Sarnath. But the old city is not drivable: cars stop at the edge of the ghat lanes, and Kashi Vishwanath, the ghats and the Ganga Aarti are reached on foot or by boat. Auto and e-rickshaws cover the short gaps, and the sunrise and aarti are seen most clearly from the river.
Experience My India keeps cancellation flexible. Since the hotel, Sugam Darshan and boat slots are date-specific, we ask for firm dates, and cancellations made with reasonable advance notice are accommodated without difficulty. If your plans change, message us early. WhatsApp +91-7302265809 to confirm the terms for your dates before you book.
Yes. Experience My India adjusts the plan to your priorities - add Ramnagar Fort, a Rudrabhishek at Kashi Vishwanath, or extend the trip to Ayodhya or Prayagraj. If you are visiting on a Friday, we reorder around the Sarnath Museum closure. WhatsApp +91-7302265809 and we shape the two days before you arrive.
Booking takes one message. WhatsApp Experience My India at +91-7302265809 with your travel dates, group size and pickup city. We reply within 30 minutes with the price, confirm your hotel and pickup point, and book your Sugam Darshan pass and boats. No advance payment is taken until your plan is confirmed in writing.

What travel guides don't tell you before you arrive.
The Vishwanath Dham is the reason most pilgrims come to Kashi, and the darshan where the most of them come unstuck. A little planning changes everything.
Start with the crowd. The corridor's general line is free, and on an ordinary morning it moves. On Mondays, through the month of Sawan (late July to August) and around Mahashivratri, the same line can run 2-4 hours. This is why Experience My India times your darshan for the calm late-morning window and, for busy dates, books ahead. A Sugam Darshan e-pass - about Rs 250-300, and only on the official shrikashivishwanath.org portal - gives a faster, dedicated lane. There is no other legitimate fast-track: anyone at the gates selling guaranteed 'VIP darshan' for cash is a tout, and aarti passes (Mangala or Sapt Rishi Aarti) are a separate booking again. We book Sugam Darshan for you only through the official portal, because no honest operator sells its own.
Then the phone. Mobile phones, cameras, leather items and bags are not permitted inside the Dham. Free cloakrooms sit near the corridor gates before the first security check - but pilgrims who don't know this reach the gate holding a phone and are sent back, losing 15-25 minutes. We route you to the cloakroom first and build that time into the plan.
Finally the dress code. Shorts, short skirts and sleeveless tops are turned away at the gate. We tell you before you leave the hotel, so no one in your group is refused at the last checkpoint. General darshan itself, once you are through, is completely free - the temple charges nothing to stand before the Jyotirlinga.
Phone in the cloakroom, official Sugam pass, modest dress, right timing - do these four and darshan of Lord Vishwanath is calm and unhurried, even in Sawan.
Guests book this tour for the Ganga and the Vishwanath Dham. What surprises them on Day 2 is how different - how much lighter - the southern temples feel.
Sankat Mochan is a Hanuman temple, and it feels like one: open, green, loud with the Hanuman Chalisa and busy with monkeys who own the courtyard. It was founded by Goswami Tulsidas, the poet-saint who wrote the Ramcharitmanas, at the very spot where he is said to have had a vision of Hanuman. After the intensity of the corridor and the cremation ghat, the mood here is joy rather than awe - families laughing as a monkey makes off with a laddoo, the recitation rolling on without pause. Pilgrims who expected Kashi to be only solemn find themselves smiling.
A few hundred metres on, the two other temples of the southern trinity complete the picture. Durga Kund glows red beside its ancient tank, alive with more monkeys and the deep power of the Devi. And in the cool white marble of Tulsi Manas Mandir, the entire Ramcharitmanas is carved into the walls, verse after verse, in the city where Tulsidas composed it - a place people come to read as much as to pray. Standing there, the Ramayana stops being a story you were told and becomes something written into the stone around you.
Rajeev Sharma and the Experience My India Kashi team take these temples in the morning, before the midday closures and the heat, so you meet this softer, greener Kashi at its calmest. Again and again, guests tell us the southern temples were the part of the trip they did not know to expect - and the part that made them want to come back.
Day 1 insider tip: the two things that catch first-timers at Kashi Vishwanath are the phone rule and the queue. Experience My India sends you to the free cloakroom before the gate, books the official Sugam Darshan e-pass, and times your darshan for the calm late morning.
Senior citizen note: the old-city lanes and ghat steps are uneven. For elderly guests we give both the sunrise and the evening aarti from a boat rather than the crowded steps, keep the AC cab close for the Southern temples and Sarnath, and walk the corridor at your pace.
Pro tip: Our local guides know these nuances intimately. They navigate crowds, time the darshan, handle protocols and share the stories textbooks miss.

The practical details that make the difference on the day.
Cars cannot enter the old-city ghat lanes - Kashi Vishwanath, the ghats and the Ganga Aarti are reached on foot or by boat, so wear shoes you can walk and climb steps in.
Phones, cameras, leather and bags are not allowed inside Kashi Vishwanath - deposit them at the free cloakroom near the corridor gates; allow 15-25 minutes.
Sankat Mochan also bans phones and cameras (security since 2006) - use the free lockers at the gate, and keep prasad and food out of sight of the monkeys.
General darshan is free; a Sugam Darshan e-pass is about Rs 250-300, only on the official shrikashivishwanath.org portal - anyone selling 'VIP darshan' outside is a tout, and Experience My India books the official pass for you.
The Ganga Aarti is free from the steps (reach by 5:00 PM) or seen from a shared boat - there is no official VIP seat; the boat simply gives the clearest view.
The sunrise boat passes Manikarnika, the cremation ghat - photography is not allowed there, so keep this stretch respectful.
Sarnath is about 10 km away; the Dhamek Stupa and Deer Park are open daily, but the Sarnath Archaeological Museum is closed on Fridays.
Dress modestly (shoulders and knees covered) and expect to remove your shoes at temple entrances; October to March is the coolest, most comfortable time to walk the city.
